I
I developed my love for photography while growing up in my hometown of Alameda, CA. where I was lucky to have a photography class offered in my school. I quickly became fascinated with the process of taking and developing photographs.
Once I reached high school and became interested in other activities, like swimming, waterpolo, soccer and music, photography unfortunately became something that I used to do. It wasn’t until 2020, when Covid hit and my bread making skills proved to be lacking, that I picked up a camera and immersed myself in studying photography.
I enrolled in classes through UC Berkeley Extension, read photography books, joined Facebook photography groups, watched Youtube instructional videos, and anything else I could find to help me figure out what direction I wanted to take.
I quickly gravitated towards Street Photography and studied the historical greats while hitting the streets, camera in hand, to develop my skills. With Street Photography, I like to photograph connections, the ones we have with the streets we walk every day and the connections people have with one another. The strong bonds formed over years and the brief interactions between strangers. In 2023, one of my street photos was selected to be displayed in the de Young Museum in San Francisco as part of the de Young open 2023 exhibition.
Living on the California coast, it seemed inevitable that I would also be drawn to Landscape Photography. Many of my Landscape photos were taken right here in my home city of San Francisco, CA, and others were taken on my journeys through Souther Utah, Maui, Hawaii, Greece, France and Italy. I look forward to growing my love for photography and connecting to other photographers and well as those who value the art of photography.
